We packed it in on our first day. Sam taught the kids and I how to use the tube. We had tickets to the Tower of London to see the Royal Jewels. The scepter with cross is the largest colorless cut diamond ever found and it sparkled! We tried to avoid the torture tower and still bumped into a few uncomfortable medieval relics and decided to leave the fortress.

We had some time until our afternoon tea reservation so we walked around covant gardens area, a very touristy spot with outdoor makers market, not much of an actual handmade market but still fun. Pearl and I paid a pound each to use the bathroom! Now I understand why the streets smell slightly like urine.

Willy Wonka themed tea party was a bit over hyped for me and Sam. Pearl really enjoyed it so we'll call it a win but even with the gf veg options for me, tiny sandwiches and fluffy deserts had me wishing we'd grabbed street food donuts for the kids and Indian food. I hadn't noticed my jet lag until we sat down for the tea and that combined with the prices left me woozy.

We rushed home for a 30 minute rest and reset. Then we were off again for the musical at the Royal theater! We barely made it and got to our seats with 5 minutes to spare just to find an intoxicated man and his girlfriend had decided it was open seating. He refused to leave which was a bit shocking. The staff had to remove him and it soured the beginning of the musical for us but eventually we, "let it go"..

After the show rickshaws lined the streets aglow with lights and blasting the frozen soundtrack. We made our way home, ordered the best Italian pizza I've ever had and crashed.
